The fashion show for SS21 will take place in a pop-up construction located in one of Frognerparken's long grass fields with trees along the walkway on each side. The choice of location is intended to enhance the [TåKe]concept while still being located close enough to Oslo's city centre. The temporary building be covered in a reflective material to mirror the surrounding green nature.
There will be a sea of fabric inside the building; this will be a green silk-like fabric. The material will inspire associations with the ocean, greenNorwegian nature, and green fjords. At the same time, it will be clear that it is fabric and clothing that is the subject of [TåKe]’s business. The waves will be constructed with a dense metal webbing, shaped to imitate waves, and covered in concrete and then fabric to achieve a surface that looks soft. There will also be a fog machine inside; the fog underlines the concept in addition to being an exciting factor in redefining the room with the mist.
Cameras will be placed inside so that everything will be recorded and streamed. The fashion show will be streamed in real-time, both online and on the outside. That way, the fashion show will create a sense of engagement, since many people are tired of digital content. The projection of the stream on the outside of the building will create a happening and become part of physical space.
Everything takes place outdoors in a large area, which means that there can be an audience at the fashion show. Chairs will be placed outside with consideration to 'social distancing' and maintaining Norway’s Covid-19-related regulations. The guests will have designated seats, but passers-by will be able to stop and look from outside this zone, and eventually share the happening on their social media platforms. Therefore, the fashion show will be communicated more widely.
The building for SS21 will only stay in Frognerparken for 48 hours, and the presence of a guard will ensure that the pop-up doesn't get vandalised. There will also only be one fashion show per year such as a music Festival NorwegianWood which takes place in Frognerparken ones a year.
